Zaber’s computer-controlled positioners with built-in controllers make automating sub-micron positioning applications quick, easy and affordable.

Zaber's X-LRM Series products are motorised linear stages with integrated controllers. The X-LRM's hardened steel construction and recirculating ball bearing guide provide exceptional rigidity and thermal stability. High stiffness makes the X-LRM ideal for multi-axis configurations or applications where excellent stability under cantilever loads is required. The stages connect to the USB 2.0 or RS-232 port of any computer and can be daisy-chained with up to 254 Zaber devices per chain. The daisy-chain also shares…

Masterclass on Lasers

Wednesday 10th October | Time: 11:30 - 12:15

When planning to use laser technology for your research or in your work it is important to understand the different types that are available, what applications they can be used for and how to make sure they are going to work for you.

In this 45 minute open, informal workshop we will be discussing various laser types and systems.

We will introduce four topics for different research areas and explain how different lasers enable these applications.

The topics are:

  • Micromachining (femtosecond, picosecond lasers)
  • Shock Peening (nanosecond lasers)
  • Laser Fluorescence (CW lasers)
  • Quantum Gravimeters (Ultra-narrow linewidth CW fibre lasers)

Optics and Photonics: BSI Standards Progress and practical implications for industry

Thursday 11th October | Time: 13:00 - 15:45

A lot of people think standards are just for big companies because they're complex, expensive tools. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The British Standards Institution (BSI) is the national standards body of the United Kingdom. BSI produces technical standards on a wide range of products and services, and also supplies certification and standards-related services to businesses.

The national committee has the responsibility to prepare and revise British Standards and to be responsible for the United Kingdom input into the International Standards Organisation (ISO).

The meeting starts off with a talk "BSI - Standard Creation, Maintenance and Practical implications" given by Prof. Simon Hall, TruLife Optics Ltd and Dr Helmut Kessler, of Manx Precision Optics.

The use of photonics is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world today - learn why at PHOTONEX EUROPE.

We look forward to welcoming you to Photonex in just a few weeks!

Kind regards
